Our Leadership team
Meet our Elders!
Nathan Braun
Elder, Speaker, Worship leader
Hi! My name is Nathan. My wife Shandell and I and our 3 daughters moved to Tofino in 2016. We moved from Fort Saskatchewan, AB where I had been serving as youth pastor for 6 years. Since moving to the Coast I have appreciated the opportunity to preach at the evangelical churches in both Tofino and Ucluelet. Shandell and I have been involved in leading worship for a number of years and have continued to serve through music during our time on the Coast. Our family enjoys animals and currently cares for a fun little flock of chickens, ducks and Quail. We also enjoy developing homesteading knowledge and skills as a family. Gardening, sourdough baking and making Kombucha have been a few skills we’ve enjoyed developing.
Melody Sadler
Administrator, Elder, Director, Worship leader
Hi there! Since marrying and moving to Tofino in the early 90s, I have raised three grown sons (our biggest accomplishment) with my husband Harold, and currently we run a guest house.
Growing up in New Westminster, at age 15 I began helping lead worship on the piano with my Dad. This continued when moving to Tofino, but with my husband Harold at TBF!
My love for supporting the Body of Christ led me to taking on more roles as family responsibilities lessened. I have enjoyed facilitating many ladies bible studies, served as a director on the church board for several years, and recently administrated an affordable housing project with our TBF team and BC Housing.
Since retiring from homeschooling my sons, I continue to use my organizational skills to "mother" TBF. Surfing, gardening, hiking, family activities, and teaching piano lessons are some of the other things that keep me busy.
Ken Sadler
Elder, Director, Speaker
Hi, I’m Ken. I was raised in Tofino and have spent most of my life on the West Coast working in the field of construction as a Red Seal carpenter and general contractor. Free time often found me enjoying surfing, golfing, fishing, and now pickleball! For a time, I was away from the coast while I attended Capernwray Bible School and Camosun College. I spent several years in Victoria, where I balanced my work in construction with a position as a youth pastor for a local church. During that time, over thirty years ago now, I married my wonderful wife, Michele, and we began our family. We returned to Tofino to start a contracting business and raise our two children. I was a general contractor for many years and now operate our guesthouse. Ministry, missions, and church work have always been important to me: I was involved as a youth leader during my high school years, a youth pastor when I lived in Victoria, and over the last thirty years I have held positions in TBF as a director, chair, and elder. Several times, I volunteered to lead building projects for a mission in South America. In addition, I have been involved as a developer for low-income/affordable housing in Tofino through TBF.
